Understand Blue Guardian Futures mixed mini/micro positions, funded scaling and EOD changes, with verified CFP purchase savings explained.
Last updated
Blue Guardian Futures counts mixed mini and micro positions against one combined allowance. Its dedicated sizing guide keeps Standard and Direct limits fixed, while funded Reserve and Express use end-of-day scaling. Verified code CFP offers up to 45% off account purchases; the coupon does not increase contract limits.

Count the whole open position
The official contract-limit guide permits equivalent mixtures, applies its ceiling to simultaneously open positions and warns that a lower end-of-day balance can reduce the funded tier. Standard and Direct use fixed allowances; Reserve and Express apply funded scaling.
For a four-mini allowance, convert every mini into ten micro-equivalent units. The ceiling is then 40 units. Three minis plus eight micros use 38 units, leaving two units. Adding another mini would produce 48 and exceed that ceiling. This accounting example concerns a platform limit, not a suitable personal position size.
| Illustrative open positions | Micro-equivalent total | Within a 40-unit ceiling? |
|---|---|---|
| 3 minis + 8 micros | 38 | Yes |
| 2 minis + 20 micros | 40 | Exactly at the ceiling |
| 3 minis + 11 micros | 41 | No |
| 1 mini + 15 micros | 25 | Yes |
A separate ticket does not create a separate allowance. Before an additional order, add its proposed exposure to the open positions already present. Pending orders also deserve attention because several fills can change exposure quickly. Do not assume an automated rejection substitutes for your own pre-trade control.
Evaluation capacity is not the starting funded tier
The dedicated guide shows $100K Reserve and Express evaluations with eight minis or 80 micros. The funded stage begins at three minis or 30 micros. At $1,500 retained profit the published tier becomes four minis; at $2,000 it becomes five; at $3,000 it becomes eight. These are end-of-day triggers rather than intraday permissions.
Consider a new funded account whose trader carried an eight-mini template over from evaluation. That template exceeds the starting three-mini limit even though the account still has a $100K label. A useful transition check is to reset order quantities and copier multipliers before placing the first funded trade.
A second example separates market movement from an effective tier. If intraday profit reaches $1,700 but the session closes at $1,300 profit, the $1,500 closing threshold has not been established. The larger intraday number should not be used to justify an increased order. Record the dashboard's current allowance at the next session rather than relying on memory of the day's peak.
A tier increase is not a risk recommendation
Maximum contracts describe what the program permits. They do not indicate how much a trader can afford to lose. Contract value, stop distance, commissions and the remaining loss boundary still matter. Two positions using the same number of contracts can have very different dollar exposure.
For an illustrative risk ledger, keep four separate entries: current permitted size, actual planned size, dollar loss at the intended stop, and remaining account loss room. A larger permitted size changes the first entry; it does not automatically improve the other three. This separation avoids treating a scaling milestone as an instruction to increase exposure.
The Standard account rules encourage disciplined sizing and caution against using the account failure threshold as a substitute for a stop. Their quick overview conflicts with the dedicated guide on scaling, so this article follows the more specific contract document and discloses that difference.
Keep payout progress separate from position permission
The Reserve rules impose distinct payout conditions. A trader may have a contract tier available without satisfying the winning-day and net-profit tests. Conversely, a count of profitable days says nothing by itself about the current allowed order size.
Our Reserve payout-day explanation covers that separate calculation. Use one ledger for trading permission and another for payout qualification; neither should silently replace the other.

| Account size | Regular price | Code | Discount | Savings | Final base price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25K–$150K, selected program | Current futures fee unconfirmed | CFP | Up to 45% | Confirmed base × accepted rate | Base less saving |
At the maximum rate, an illustrative $240 regular fee would produce $108 savings and a $132 base balance. This is a hypothetical calculation, not a current account quote. Optional settings, taxes and recovery fees are separate. The exact configuration's coupon rate must be established before presenting a payable dollar total.
How to apply CFP and check the account
- Select Futures and the intended program and size.
- Confirm the regular fee and optional settings.
- Enter CFP in the coupon field and review the accepted order total.
- Save the selected account terms.
- On funded issuance, inspect the current contract tier before reusing templates.
- Reconcile mini and micro positions against one combined allowance each session.
FAQ
Can I use the mini and micro maximum at the same time?
No. They are equivalent ways to express one allowance, not two independent allocations.
Does intraday profit immediately unlock a larger funded tier?
The dedicated guide uses end-of-day scaling. A temporary intraday peak does not establish the closing trigger.
Does passing preserve the evaluation position size?
Not for funded Reserve and Express. Check the new stage's starting allowance.
Does CFP change contract limits?
No. It concerns the account purchase price, while program rules remain in force.
Why is there no exact discounted purchase total?
Current futures base fees and configuration-specific coupon coverage could not be reliably established from the public selector.
