In short: Funded Futures Family News Permissions + Coupon Code COMPARE

Check FFF news rules by account, including Sniper’s USD restriction, and compare covered Velocity prices with code COMPARE at 80% off.

Last updated

Funded Futures Family news permission now depends on the exact account. Its current general policy allows news trading unless a plan has its own restriction, and the new 25K Sniper funded account has one: high-impact USD news requires a flat account from one minute before through one minute after the event. Check the plan before treating an older firm-wide “news allowed” statement as permission.

Verified code COMPARE gives 80% off Velocity, 40% off Premier+ for the first five code uses and 30% afterward, and 30% off Prime and Prime Max. No COMPARE rate is established here for Sniper. The news example explains an account restriction; it does not extend the coupon to a new program. Official information reviewed 10 October 2026.

Start with the account-specific policy

FFF's current News Trading Policy says there is no universal flattening requirement across every account. Plans without a specific restriction may trade Tier 1 releases, while restricted accounts must follow their own timing and position rules. It also warns about irregular fills, slippage and data delays during volatile events.

An August marketing FAQ gives a broader yes to trading major releases. The practical reading is to check the newer general policy and the selected plan together. Save the account name, stage, purchase terms and current policy link. A screenshot from a different FFF product cannot establish the permission attached to yours.

A useful question for support identifies the complete situation: which account, which stage, which event and which action. “Can I trade news?” leaves those fields unspecified. “Does this account permit holding an existing position through this named release?” gives the firm a concrete permission question to answer.

Sniper makes the distinction concrete

The official 25K Sniper guide restricts news when both classifications apply: high impact and USD. It prohibits holding positions or opening new ones during the one-minute window on either side and identifies a violation as a hard breach. This makes a blanket description of FFF as unrestricted inaccurate for this account.

The same guide describes Sniper as Straight to Funded, with a $750 EOD trailing drawdown that never locks and a maximum of one mini or ten micros. These are Sniper-specific parameters. Do not import the position allowance, drawdown or evaluation route from the discounted Velocity example later in this article.

Keep the event's currency and impact classification visible beside its name. A red icon alone can be ambiguous if different calendars use different labels. If two sources classify the event differently, resolve the firm’s required reference before relying on the less restrictive one. This is a checking workflow, not a prediction that a particular event will produce a trading opportunity.

Turn the news time into a practical check

Suppose a hypothetical covered event is listed for 8:30 a.m. in the calendar's stated time zone. Subtracting and adding one minute gives an illustrative flat window from 8:29 through 8:31. This is only a time calculation; it is not today's economic schedule.

Before using that result, confirm the event date and time zone. A local phone clock and a trading calendar can display different zones. Use a date-aware conversion rather than a permanent offset, particularly around daylight-saving changes. Recheck the announcement time on the session you plan to trade because an old recurring reminder can preserve an outdated schedule.

A short preparation record can include:

  • Account identifier and applicable plan rule
  • Event name, date, impact and currency
  • Source calendar and time zone
  • Start and end of the restricted interval
  • Position and working-order status on each affected account
  • Any unanswered classification question

A position screen showing zero contracts is useful evidence, but inspect working orders as well. A pending entry can change the account after you become flat. Record completed cancellations and closures rather than only the time you clicked a button. If the displayed state is unclear, stop troubleshooting with new orders and establish what remains active.

News permission and ordinary trading hours need separate checks

FFF's permitted-times guide states a daily closure at 4:45 p.m. and reopening at 6:00 p.m., using the label EST. It describes automatic position closure. The wording does not resolve whether that label is meant literally year-round or as local Eastern Time, so confirm the dashboard's current session notice before converting it for another location.

Keep the ordinary session break and any event restriction as separate calendar entries. For example, discovering that an event has no special restriction on your plan does not settle whether the market or account is currently open. Likewise, a normal session schedule does not answer whether Sniper's covered-event interval applies.
